Dr. Barbara Ostrowska
Dr. Barbara Ostrowska graduated with a Masters Degree from the University of Physical Rehabilitation in Warsaw, Poland in 1989. While enrolled there, she was an interpreter for several visiting national athletic teams and pursued many additional educational opportunities. Before graduating, she completed neurodevelopment treatment training (NDT) for children with cerebral palsy and patients who suffered from Cerebro Vascular Accidents.
After graduation, she worked in the neonatal unit at Children's Memorial Hospital and provided therapy for children with rare metabolic and genetic disorders. She organized and planned the American/Polish Physical Therapist Symposium on Advances in Pediatric Therapy. Dr. Ostrowska moved to the United States in 1991 and pursued advanced education courses in orthopedics, neurology, and manual therapy. Dr. Ostrowska completed a postgraduate doctorate degree from University of St. Augustine.
Since 1991, Dr. Ostrowska has attended over three dozen different courses to pursue advanced skills and provide evidence based treatment protocols.
Dr. Ostrowska completed her formal education in manual therapy from the University of St. Augustine and her F.C.E. certification course with Dr. Roy Matheson. She has also obtained training in lymphedema and certification in fitness training. Dr. Ostrowska has appeared on local TV stations to speak on the subject of back pain, injury prevention, and chronic pain. She regularly presents to the community on a variety of subjects and has mentored Oswego High School students in their medical topic class for ten years.
Among her awards Dr. Ostrowska was the Clinician of the Year for NovaCare in 1994 and Employee of the Month in 2001 for a local hospital. Her years of experience include working with clients with variety of medical disorders, athletes, weekend warriors, and older populations. She tailors treatment protocols to patients needs to restore and improve her client's abilities.
