Dr. Abby Sorensen-Brittich

Dr. Abby Sorensen-Brittich comes to Doctors of Physical Therapy as a graduate from the prestigious Washington University in Saint Louis. During that time, she was exposed to all aspects of physical therapy practice; however, her primary interest is in orthopedics and the treatment of musculoskeletal pain complaints. Throughout Dr. Sorensen’s education and clinical experience, she has developed her primary treatment philosophy based on imbalances in the movement system.

Dr. Sorensen-Brittich has spent several years treating the orthopedic population at AthletiCo Physical and Occupation Therapy and has experience with a variety of diagnoses throughout the age spectrum. Dr. Sorensen has an interest in both the development of strong patient/therapist relationships and the education of future physical therapists, through student mentoring. In addition, Dr. Sorensen organized in-house continuing education courses designed for continuing education of current physical therapists, at her previous position. Taken together, these additional experiences give Dr. Sorensen the distinction as a credentialized clinical instructor by the American Physical Therapy Association. She now brings her past clinical, mentoring, and supervisory experiences to her role with Doctors of Physical Therapy.

Prior to completing her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, Dr. Sorensen-Brittich received degrees in both Biology and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh. She also broadened her horizons by studying abroad in Spain. With her primary interest in the sciences, Dr. Sorensen-Brittich segued this interest into the physical therapy field with the goal to educate and improve patients’ daily lives along with educating and developing upcoming physical therapists.

Dr. Sorensen-Brittich is passionate about creating success for her patients by giving them the tools and guidance to meet their individualized rehabilitation goals. She is very excited to share her enthusiasm and guide patients on their road to recovery.
