Dr. Monique Sullivan

Dr. Monique Sullivan is a graduate of Indiana University. While earning her doctorate, she completed clinical rotations at a variety of settings to give her experience with all types of patient populations. Dr. Sullivan worked at a polytrauma rehab unit, where she treated patients with traumatic brain injuries, strokes, and amputations. She also worked in an inpatient hospital setting where she was able to observe total hip, total shoulder, total knee, and ACL surgeries. Most of Dr. Sullivan's clinical time was spent in an outpatient orthopedic setting. While at her clinical rotation, Dr. Sullivan was able to introduce and demonstrate the positive results of using the Graston Technique ™, which is a form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and restrictions.

Dr. Sullivan earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science at Indiana University where she graduated with highest honors. She was a full scholarship member of Indiana's women's varsity volleyball team from 2000-2004 and earned Academic All-Big Ten honors. Dr. Sullivan made the Nation Dean's List and was a member of Golden Key, Alpha Lambda Delta, Phi Eta Sigma, and Alpha Beta honor societies.

Dr. Sullivan's interest in physical therapy stems from her personal experiences with therapy. In 1999, she sustained a potential career ending back injury in volleyball. She also had ACL surgery in the summer of 2006. She believes she can better relate to patients after experiencing therapy from a patient's point of view. Dr. Sullivan feels she can offer a unique perspective to patients because of her sports background and personal experiences with injuries. She has seen first hand the positive results physical therapy can provide.
