Dr. Audie Veloria

Dr. Audie C. Veloria earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in 2010. Through his clinical education with Rosalind Franklin University, Dr. Veloria has treated patients in a variety of settings ranging from outpatient orthopedic clinics to an in-patient hospital and a skilled nursing facility. Dr. Veloria has been exposed to patients with neurological disorders, geriatric patients with multiple and extensive co-morbidities, high level athletes, and post-operative cardiac and orthopedic patients. He has fully embraced what incredible things physical therapists can accomplish within their broad scope of practice in each unique setting. Yet through it all, he found himself treating patients with the orthopedic mindset to maximize functional gains while further developing his fascination with manual therapy. Throughout his time at Rosalind Franklin, he was awarded an academic scholarship and ultimately the College of Health Professions Dean’s Award for Scholarship, which was given to the Physical Therapy student with the highest graduating GPA.

Dr. Veloria is a strong proponent of evidenced-based practice and has conducted and completed two research studies - a descriptive vital signs research study in an outpatient physical therapy clinic and an ergonomic research study in the physical therapy classroom. He believes that as physical therapy continues to evolve as a profession, therapists must stay abreast of the growing body of knowledge to provide patients with the most effective, efficient, and efficacious treatments available. To that end, Dr. Veloria has made a lifelong commitment to further develop his manual therapy skills and improve his overall level of practice to help patients achieve their meaningful, functional goals.

Prior to physical therapy school, Dr. Veloria graduated with 'High Distinction’ from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Movement Science. While at Michigan, Dr. Veloria developed an early interest in physical therapy and the positive effects its conservative care approach can elicit on musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. This eventually became the impetus to pursue a lifelong career in physical therapy.

When Dr. Veloria is not treating patients, you can find him rooting for his Michigan Wolverines during football and basketball season. GO BLUE!
